I am a passionate and creative coach, teacher, and scientist who brings over 25 years of experience in guiding and empowering others to develop into their full potential. I came to coaching following a 20-year career in cancer therapeutics. As a scientist with a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology, I developed expertise in research, analysis, and innovation, with a focus on both employee training and development as well as team coherence and effectiveness. During my career in academia, government, and industry, primarily through managing clinical research and manufacturing laboratories, I became fascinated with many factors of performance enhancement, including emotional intelligence, effective communication, conflict resolution, creative problem solving, and other personal leadership competencies. My love for discovery shifted from our external world towards our inner world, eventually leading me to coach training. I am a certified Coach through Leadership That Works and hold an Associate Coach Credential (ACC) from the International Coach Federation (ICF). Leveraging the principles of neuroplasticity to support change that’s sustainable and permanent, I use science as a bridge to enhance resiliency, emotional fluency, and optimal health. I support organizations and individuals in becoming more effective and successful through one-on-one coaching, group coaching, workshops, and classes. I am committed to guiding and inspiring others to grow and develop in their work and personal lives, encouraging them to stretch beyond what they think is possible.

After receiving my PhD, I many years performing cancer research focused on targeted gene therapies. Although the main focus of my work was in conventional medicine, my interest in alternative and complimentary therapies grew simultaneously, particularly after my 18-month-old son was diagnosed with autism. While helping my son through his journey with autism, I gained an insatiable interest and new appreciation for the mind-body connection, and the importance of our thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and attitudes on our capabilities, our successes, and our physical bodies. This mirrored exactly what I experienced at work while training and empowering individuals to reach higher levels of performance. A pivotal point in my career path came through the Son-Rise® home program I ran for my son, which is based on love, acceptance, and a nonjudgmental attitude. Not only did my son’s life change in amazing ways, but my life was truly transformed as I learned I could choose happiness in each moment regardless of external circumstances. In 2012 I decided to pursue coaching full-time and share my passion for bringing more success, meaning, and happiness into life through coaching. Although my son’s journey with autism prompted a quantum leap in seeing life in a new way, I’ve always been interested in personal growth and have been traveling the path of transformation for many years. Deeply learning more about myself - my desires, my values, and how I operate in the world - has allowed me to become much more effective in creating what I want in my life, and to enjoy all the moments along the way. I now have total clarity about my strongest desires: for deep connection in my relationships, to be happy and comfortable even in the midst of challenging circumstances or situations, and to be loving, gracious, and compassionate in all my interactions while at the same time to be totally authentic and fully express who I am in the world. One of the most rewarding aspects of coaching is that I can use the intimate connections with clients in order to learn more about myself, which continually supports my own personal growth and evolution towards the person I most want to be. I’m grateful to have made this shift!
Through many of my own life experiences and interests, I’ve been drawn to help support a variety of different people. My clients come to me for coaching in many different areas, including performance enhancement, career transition, relationships, health, life balance, parenting, and personal growth. Some examples of the type of clients I support are:
highly successful people desiring the same satisfaction in their personal lives as they’ve achieved in their careers
individuals going through a difficult challenge or loss (such as an illness or death) longing to feel hopeful about life again
people going through life transitions (career change, empty nest) who want to infuse this new phase of their lives with purpose and meaning
moms and dads yearning to practice peaceful parenting, including those of kids with special needs
I love working with clients who have a deep longing to improve the quality of their lives, who are willing to take both responsibility and action for making changes in their life, and who are ready to see themselves and the world a new way. It is truly an honor and pleasure for me to share in the empowerment, inspiration, and growth of my clients!
